So my friend and I went out for a nice long walk to Chinatown and discovered this amazing place for dim sum. We were both craving dim sum and it just so happened that this restaurant was nearby and we decided to take a chance and go.
Laura and I were absolutly surprised and delighted – what a great discovery!

You actually can burn the calories before you even start eating because there’s a flight of stairs going up so your thighs get a bit of a burn before you sit down. LOL It’s definitely not wheelchair accessible.
Once you sit down, you are two menus, one is a normal menu and the other is a dim sum menu! We had a look at both and we both decided that we wanted to have dim sum. We were hungry but not super hungry enough to order a full meal. It’s nice to have a little bit of a peckish appetite so that you can try different things and that’s what I love about dim sum. You can order a little bits n bites and get a chance to try many things.
So off we go to the races and here is what we ordered ….

We placed our order and shortly the dishes started coming out, they sure don’t waste anytime. Our service was quite on point too. The Chinese broccoli was cooked perfectly. It was done well enough and the crunch was there! That superb veggie crunch and not soggy! Besides, I love the crunch who doesn’t love the crunch.?? LOL
The four vegetables that came in the gravy was just superb! There was enough for probably four people. We sure enjoyed all of the vegetables and the tasty gravy that it comes in and was enough. The portions are ideal!
The 3 dishes, in the middle photo starting from the back, is a staple for me when I go for dim sum. The shrimp dumplings are da bomb! I sure love those simple little dumpling, and I am telling you, whoever wrapped these little prawns know exactly how to do it. The pork ribs came in a really tasty sauce gravy. The pork ribs were the perfect portion for the two of us, especially with all of the other dim sum choices we made.
The crab curry was also very tasty. I normally don’t like the crab curry In Thailand I feel it’s too sweet somehow? I really enjoyed this one so I would highly recommend that if you wanna order this be my guest!

Xiao Long Bao, aka soup dumplings are my fav!! They are very well made here, however, you need to wait to eat them because the soup inside can be hot unless you’ve eaten them before. Make Sur to sprinkle the ginger slices on top when you pop it in your mouth!
The other shrimp dumpling had sesame oil in them and OMG so so good! I had to arm wrestle Laura for the second one as there were only 3! Haha and I won! She ended up liking the pork ribs more so all to me! I really enjoyed also The I’m not sure exactly what it was the condiment in the middle. It has such a strong sesame taste, which I really enjoyed.
Watch this video and it will explain the different dumplings and the other dishes we ordered.
Laoteng was so good that the following week I ended up bringing my dinner group here, we had a great time enjoying the food, and the dinner group was definitely impressed by Laoteng!
Make sure you hit this place up, make you reservations as they are always busy! If you’re looking for delivery you can order through grab and they’ll get it to you right away!
