Va Presto, a very quaint little cozy restaurant is located in The Up building on the corner of Rama 3 and Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra Road in the Sathorn area, curating high quality Italian cuisines for very affordable prices. Va Presto

Va Presto is not even a month old and they’re starting to already get repeat customers. This authentic Italian restaurant serves up a whole lot of Italian and true Italian fashion! All the ingredients are all handmade homemade in-house so you’re getting quality, and authentic Italian flavours. Every single ingredient on this menu and everything that they make is not fusion. It is strictly Italian so if you want an authentic experience, make sure you mark on your Google maps to save it on your next to go destination for great Italian cuisine.

We ordered the appetizer, bruschetta porchetta on ciabatta bread – wow that’s quite a mouthful to say! And, speaking of mouthfuls, our taste buds were salivating looking at this perfectly plated appetizer on a wooden board. The porchetta ham was so tender, soft and juicy. It was the perfect compliment to the extra crunchy ciabatta bread drizzled with the most plump juicy baby tomatoes you’ve ever tasted. An overall combination of flavours, textures were absolutely tantalizing.

Va Presto, this appetizer deserves a 5/5 or should I say 10/10 regardless of what number it is, definitely get this one. The focaccia with dips are that are also unique, as typically you normally dip the bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

Moreover, I don’t mean to downplay the complementary appetizers, they were outstanding as well. The two dips that the focaccia comes with are the right pairing for this bread. Best part, you can buy this focaccia bread which is made in house. As one knows, looks can be deceiving. It looks light, but it’s quite dense and it is seasoned with the perfect herbs drizzled with olive oil.

Strozzapreti Salmon Slow Roasted Duck Salad

Now comes the slow roasted duck salad! This duck salad was unlike anything I’ve had and lately I seem to be eating a lot more duck. The feta cheese complements, the slow roasted duck that melts so beautifully on your tongue. The crispy bread that comes with it is the ideal paring to the overall texture and flavours of this amazing salad. This salad definitely is a standalone because this is a dish you don’t want to share!

So after we had the duck salad, we ordered a pasta noodle that I’ve never had before called Strozzapreti pasta. The shape of this pasta is long and not hollow. So ..we ordered the Strozzapreti Salmon pasta! Again talk about a mouthful! The smoked salmon filets is in there, hard to see because of the pasta’s rich tomato colour. Trust me, it is in there and oh so good.

I’m not sure you can see the ndjua spicy sausage sprinkled in there which added an element of spicy zing, I wanted to add more chill but wasn’t necessary. The mini dollops of pesto on top was also something different yet surprisingly enjoyable to the overall taste. How did you make this so scrumptious Va Presto? It was so good when we mixed it in and started to eat it. I literally could not stop eating, I wanted to grab some bread to wipe the delicious sauce with!

Pinsa Njdua & Stracciatella Cheese

Now how do I begin describing the Pinsa. I mean I have had Pinsa before but not like this! It is more rectangular than its most popular well known rival the pizza! However, after tasing this particular Pinsa, I have converted. Pinsa all day and everyday! As Florian, the owner, described the cooking process of the pinsa, it is “double baked”! The special cooking process gives it a soft chewy texture to an ultimate crunch! The spicy Ndjua sausage hidden under the stracciatella cheese, now you may say “HUH”?

What kinda cheese is that? It is the proper term of the cheese that is inside the burrata cheese. The “oh so smooth and creamy cheese” part that you take from inside a burrata ball. However, when you slice burrata cheese open, the creamy center that comes out is called stracciatella cheese. Yup, I was this old when I realized what this is called, as everyone knows the word burrata.

Also, please do not be alarmed when you order a Hawaiian Pinsa, it is the most expensive Pinsa in Bangkok! LOL …. no kidding, check it out!

I love dessert, especially dessert that is very well-made and not too sweet. I can describe this incredible flourless brownie chocolate cake as that – simply delicious. I love the presentation of this dessert as it makes you not want to eat it? LOL!! However, we couldn’t wait to dig in. Just like its presentation absolutely beautiful in flavour, taste and texture. If heaven came on a plate, it you be this as it was divine. I’m so glad Florian suggested this dessert. It was the best ending to an awesome lunch!
