Welcome to Weaver Dining Restaurant, beautifully situated on the 9th floor of the stunning new SILQ Hotel and Residences, the latest gem on Sukhumvit Soi 24. The hotel’s style exudes understated elegance with a minimalist touch. Rather than a traditional front desk, it offers a refined, personalized check-in experience that elevates every guest’s stay.
Weaver Dining, has a significant to the name as the hotel concept is based on the Silk Road journey. Silq Hotel and Residences, embodies that journey with their choice of names, the creatively crafted menus and drinks.
The Silk Road was an ancient network of trade routes that connected China with the Mediterranean, spanning over 4,000 miles. Moreover, it was established during the Han Dynasty (206 BCE–220 CE), it facilitated the exchange of goods like silk, spices, and precious metals, and it also spread ideas, culture, and technology between East and West.
This vibrant cultural highway played a critical role in the development of civilizations by enabling cultural, religious, and technological exchanges. Its legacy of cross-cultural interaction has shaped global history, laying the groundwork for modern trade and international relations.
Now let’s get to this yummy food ….
My olfactory nerves went wild when the homemade bread came out .. I just love the smell of freshly baked bread! Again, I didn’t want to touch it because I am cutting carb, however I couldn’t resist especially dipped in the scallops sauce.
The scallops on the other hand were outrageously delicious, sitting innocently on a bed of spinach. LOL We could have easily eaten more of these succulent little tender medallions! Must order when at Weaver Dining!
My friend didn’t care for the dumpling but I was in love! These delis morsels of pork and shrimp wrapped like a gift o the gods in a beautiful floral package, it would make you not want to devour them. They looked absolutely beautiful! Like WOW. .. a nice little present for me?
Now comes the Indian cuisine, I am not a fan of butter chicken as I expressed to Chef Luca but this is an all time popular dish at Weaver Dining. So I decided to try the prawn curry instead and the taste was very nice and smooth! I needed of course that extra kick of spice for chilies I poured them on after. The naan bread deliciously dusted with just enough garlic that would mildly keep vampires away, only because they would slip on the butter! Overall mouthwatering.
The Papdi Chat, we as in my language they call it papri chat, this was very heavy portion of crispy wafers, topped with huge scrumptious dollops of yogurt, mint chutney drizzled with tamarind chutney. So many flavours, it is like a food bomb in your mouth, one wafer at a time. Add chilis for that extra kick if you should so desire.
Caution: just gonna warn you about this amazing pasta carbonara. I fell in love the moment this pasta hit my tastebuds. The creamy, savoury and not too tomatoey sauce left me whirling with such appetizing glee. How is this possible to make such a palatable sauce? It has a spicy sausage “pate” like consistency, which blended into the combination with full zest! However, one more thing to mention, it didn’t need anything else added to this pasta dish. You can order this with your server as it is not on the menu!
The Lon Poo .. now how is this to be eaten? Well, see the crunchy veggies, you can take them and dip them into the crab dip and viola, you have a winner. Weaver Dining, how do we thank you for this amazing concoction? In addition, the sweetness of the crab meat, the savoury coconut sauce and the chilis heat, makes this a very easy journey to swallow! The explosion of tanginess is just right like baby bear would say!
Now and again, I love the tiramisu as a dessert as it is light and fluffy but not all Tiramisu’s are the same! Weaver, how did you zap your magic on this? The tiramisu was just exactly how I like it, light, fluffy and a slight sweetness which hits the roof of your mouth in ecstasy. You don’t even feel it but the full on taste is there in every bite.
So as I approached this other delightful dessert, I was intrigued. Once I cut into the Panna Cotta, it hit me like a steam train, the burst of Thai basil, Kefir lime and lemongrass was so intense in a good way! My mind completely confused at the combination of flavours all at once, recognizing them but in the combo, was too much! I found myself slowing savouring each bit as it was so refreshing. The cut up mango was such a gratifying mix which left me craving for more.
I cannot thank the staff at Weaver Dining, located in the gorgeous stunning Silq Hotel & Residences for such an amazing lunch experience. Khun Arpit, thank you so much for showing me around the hotel and I really look forward to having more opportunities to come there for more magnificent meals with friends and loved ones. Chef Luca, keep up the amazing creations as I look forward to more of your food art.
With love and gratitude,
FauZia
