Potato Salad

Potato salad, a classic and beloved dish, brings its own unique charm to the world of culinary delights. This versatile side dish, often served cold or at room temperature, is a delightful blend of flavors and textures that leaves a lasting impression.

Imagine tender potatoes, boiled to perfection, offering a creamy and slightly firm bite. These potatoes serve as the canvas for a medley of ingredients that transform the salad into a taste sensation.

Crisp and refreshing celery adds a satisfying crunch, while finely chopped red onions provide a subtle zing. The creaminess of mayonnaise or a tangy sour cream dressing envelops the potatoes, marrying all the ingredients together.

At Mervyn’s, the magic doesn’t stop there! Additional ingredients such as crunchy pickles, savory bacon bits, or fresh herbs like dill or parsley can take the potato salad to new heights of flavor. Each bite is a delightful combination of textures and tastes that will keep you coming back for more.

Whether enjoyed as a side dish at a backyard barbecue, a picnic in the park, or a delightful addition to a potluck spread, potato salad brings comfort and satisfaction to any gathering. Its versatility allows it to complement a wide range of main courses, making it a crowd-pleaser that never goes out of style.

Nasi Lemek

Nasi Lemak, a tantalizing Singaporean Malay dish, is a symphony of flavors that will transport your taste buds to culinary bliss. At its heart is fragrant coconut rice, cooked to perfection with a touch of pandan leaf, infusing it with a delightful aroma. This aromatic base is complemented by an array of delectable accompaniments.

Picture succulent and juicy chicken or crispy fried anchovies, known as ikan bilis, adding a satisfying crunch to each bite. Indulge in the creamy texture of hard-boiled eggs, the slight tang of pickled cucumbers, and the fiery kick of sambal, a chili-based condiment that brings the dish to life.

But the star of the show is often the luscious, fragrant sambal sotong (spicy squid). Tender squid rings are lovingly simmered in a tantalizing blend of spices, tamarind, and chili, creating a harmonious balance of sweet, sour, and spicy flavors that dance on your palate. Chef Mervyn – you have out done yourself!

Nasi Lemak is more than just a dish – it is a cultural staple that reflects the rich heritage and diverse influences of Singaporean cuisine. It is a hearty breakfast option, a satisfying lunchtime treat, or a comforting dinner choice that will leave you craving more.

Chicken Burger

KING OF ALL BURGERS, this one really took the cake, so to speak! It was deep fried thick chicken with these making sauce overflowing on a homemade bun. The fries were exquisitely done as well, lightly salted! The crunchy chicken burger, the soft supple bun and the tangly spicy sauce was finger licking good. It was crispy and juicy all at the same time and mouthful of bursting spicy flavours! Crank the heat up on this one, it is worth it!

Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

This little piece of cake and ice cream was an icing on the cake so to speak. They make their won homemade ice cream, which was sweet and with the slice of the cake as very light sweet so it complimented each other.
