I have been to this place many many times but only at late night because the music is good and they have karaoke! Witch’s Oyster bar and restaurant is a great place to come and chill at any time of day/week. Now, that I have tried the food here, I will most certainly be back more as the menu is extensive and gourmet!
I met with the owner Dede, a few years back and it was good to reconnect with him now that Bangkok is back in full swing!
Nachos with Chili Bean
When these nachos came out, I knew there is something special about the chef! I was expecting the “normal” kind of nachos that are served here especially for a pub style atmosphere and viola. … these were stupendous! Moreover, I loved the presentation, and while I was waiting for my photographer to arrive, I dug in! Sorry, I couldn’t wait to try the nachos.
The nacho chips, crispy, fresh, crunchy and perfectly salted! I love how big the nachos chips are and the stewed tomatoes were pungent and tasteful. I love the added kidney beans, the way the jalapeños heated the tastebuds and the green onion sprigs sprinkled like snowflake on a cold winter day! I thought to myself, if the nachos tasted like this… I was eagerly waiting for the rest of the menu items to come!
Witch’s Pizza Special
This is the Witch’s Pizza Special at Witches Oyster Bar and Restaurant, I was hesitant to order this one as I a not a fan of seafood on pizza, but it was the “special” and I wanted to try it! You wanna know what is under all that rocket? Huge chunks of salmon and prawns cooked baked to perfection.
I am sure the salmon was like sashimi and the prawns delicately seared, along with the right amount of pizza sauce! Furthermore, the crust was crispy and the overall rating I would give is 5 out of 5 star! Khan Ya, you have seriously created a masterpiece! Witches Oysters bar and restaurant, you are extremely fortunate as you have discovered the secret!
Thai Beef Salad
So my trusty photographer Faisal, finally showed up being stuck for over 30 min in traffic, I would say it is rush-hour traffic but isn’t every day rush-hour traffic in Bangkok? Luckily it hasn’t started raining so otherwise it would’ve been another few hours and he would’ve missed this entire delicious meal!
However when this Thai beef salad came out again at Witch’s Oyster Bar and Restaurant, I couldn’t believe the authentic taste of the salad, gourmet style! The slightly rare chunks of beef mixed with fresh cucumbers, crispy onions, firm tomatoes in a special Thai sauce which I am sure is made in house, is the perfect dish for people who are doing a ketogenic lifestyle! Or anyone who has a hankering for delicious fusion Thai food, this is the place for you! The flavour mixed so well together, I almost wanted to order another one if my but tummy would not let me have more!
Spaghetti Vongole
Ohh … I can still taste this dish! Spaghetti Vongole is a pasta dish made with clams in a white wine sauce. The spaghetti perfect Ala-dente and the sauce was scrumptious as it lightly convered the spaghetti like a warm blanket! The clams plenty topped with fresh grated parmesan was truly the best! Lo Adoro Chef Ya at Witch’s Oyster Bar and Restaurant!
Spaghetti alle vongole (pronounced [spaˈɡetti alle ˈvoÅ‹É¡ole]), Italian for “spaghetti with clams“, is a dish that is very popular throughout Italy, especially in Campania (where it is part of traditional Neapolitan cuisine). If you have not ever tried this pasta, please do and you will go back for more! Thank you Dede for the recommendation!
Fish and Chips
Snowfish is light, fluffy and no fishy smell, the perfect fish to use for the fish and chips! This batter is deceiving as the fish piece is the exact same size, what you see is what you eat! I was already super full by time the fish and chips came out, however, it was hot, batter was crispy and fresh, I couldn’t resist! The squeeze of lemon was the super classic topping! The mushy peas and the tartare dip was also complimentary to the over all dish, so if you have a craving for fish and chips, this is the place for you! oh and how can I forget, the French fries! NOT soggy, but well done!
